L&#8217;attore protagonista e scrittore della storia \u00e8 Andr\u00e9 Deed, un attore francese che aveva deciso di realizzare una trilogia horror con una casa di produzione milanese. La casa di produzione fall\u00ec e quindi l&#8217;unico film realizzato di questo progetto fu proprio &#8220;L&#8217;Uomo Meccanico&#8221;. Poich\u00e9 si \u00e8 perso il film &#8220;Il Mostro di Frankenstein&#8221; del 1914, &#8220;L&#8217;uomo Meccanico&#8221; \u00e8 il primo film di fantascienza\/horror prodotto in Italia ad oggi disponibile, seppur in versione mutilata.<br \/>\nLa pellicola, infatti, era andata perduta e solo negli anni &#8217;90 la Cineteca di Bologna \u00e8 riuscita a restaurare l&#8217;ultima bobina rimasta al mondo, in pellicola infiammabile, rinvenuta in Brasile. Del film rimangono 43 minuti, sulla durata originaria che, stando al visto di censura, doveva attestarsi oltre l&#8217;ora e venti.<br \/>\n\u201cL\u2019Uomo Meccanico\u201d \u00e8 per questo poco conosciuto, sebbene rappresenti una tappa molto importante del cinema italiano.<br \/>\n<strong>Fetiche la mascotte (The mascot)<\/strong><br \/>\nLadislaw Starewicz (Starewitch) is perhaps the key figure in the history of stop-motion puppet animation. Over a period of 50 years, from Russia to France, he maintained a fascination with the strange, almost surreal properties of the form, exploring both its capacity for rendering realistic motion and movement, as well as its more \u201cfantastic\u201d and explicitly cinematic qualities. His films are marked by a concern with the animated nature of the cinematic medium, its ability to bring things and events to life while also retaining a trace of the arrested motion that is its foundation.
